Memorial Day Parade

Parade steps off at the Senior Center at 1:00 PM.  Children meet at Cheshire Elementary School at 12:30, (decorate bikes with patriotic red, white and blue!) They will join the parade as it passes on School Street.  Memorial Day Ceremony will follow at the Cheshire Cemetery on West Mountain Road.

Annual Town Meeting at Cheshire Elementary School at 7:00pm, voter check-in begins at 6:30pm

Special Senate Election, at Community/Senior Center, Polls open 7:00am to 8:00pm

 
Library: Preschool StoryTimes

Preschool StoryTimes are being offered twice a month at the Cheshire Library for youngsters ages 3-5. The StoryTimes will begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately one hour. (The program began on April 1st)

  • Mold Hazard After Flooding May Return as Weather Warms

    WINDSOR, Conn. – The floodwaters may have receded months ago, but mold and mildew – dormant during the winter months -- may reappear in water-damaged homes as the weather warms.

    Mold only grows in warm, wet conditions and may have been inactive and unnoticed during the winter months. It can lurk throughout a home, from the attic to the basement and crawl spaces.

    WINDSOR, Conn. — More than $283 million in federal disaster assistance, loans and insurance claims paid to date is funding Connecticut’s ongoing recovery from Hurricane Sandy. The huge storm devastated portions of the eastern seaboard and drenched most of the state six months ago.
